This paper presents a design scheme of controlling/optimization system for hybrid solar — wind renewable energy sources, its transmission, charging — discharging battery energy storage system and connectivity to the grid distribution. The voltage base self — intervention technique is employed for hybrid solar — wind renewable energy sources and battery energy storage system. The hierarchical switching control process technique is employed to switch, control, manage — supervise, optimize the hybrid solar — wind renewable energy sources and battery energy storage system charging — discharging process. Therefore, this paper's aims and objectives are to use the modern power electronics technology to integrate all the subsystem together to perform control and optimization. The simulation results of the proposed design scheme using the PIC Microcontroller shows controlling the hybrid solar — wind renewable energy sources intelligently perform the switching between the hybrid solar — wind renewable energy sources. Also, the hierarchical switching control process technique which act as the expert system effectively manage to optimize the hybrid solar — wind renewable energy sources, battery energy storage system charging — discharging process and load supply output. Simulation results presented successfully demonstrated the design scheme of controlling/optimization using voltage base self — intervention technique and hierarchical switching control process algorithm for hybrid solar — wind renewable energy sources and battery energy storages system.

A design scheme of control/optimization system for hybrid solar — Wind and battery energy storages system

A simple Voltage-Base Self-Intervention technique is introduced in this paper to perform the switching between the connected distributed generation renewable energy sources. The Voltage-Base Self-Intervention technique fetch maximum power from either the solar photovoltaic or wind energy systems under inhomogeneous climate conditions and output stable voltage for DC -- AC inverter and DC -- DC Boost Converter. In order to fetch the maximum power, the proposed Voltage-Base Self-Intervention technique is composed with the voltage quantification and the increment and decrement hierarchical voltage management and control strategy algorithm. The voltage quantification and the increment and decrement hierarchical voltage management and control strategy algorithm is developed to ensure the DC bus voltage from the solar and wind renewable energy sources can be measured efficiently and effectively during the voltage conduction to perform the Voltage -- Base Self - Intervention. To validate the performances of the proposed Voltage-Base Self-Intervention technique for solar -- wind renewable energy sources, PROTEUS simulations are presented in this paper. Simulation results shows that the proposed technique effectively perform the Voltage -- Base Self -- Intervention between the distributed generations solar -- wind renewable energy sources during the voltage conduction.

Simulation of a New Proposed Voltage-Base Self-Intervention Technique with Increment and Decrement Voltage Conduction Method to Optimize the Renewable Energy Sources DC Output

The paper deals with storage and generation systems with renewable energy sources. A stand-alone combined system with electrochemical batteries, supercapacitors and fuel cells is considered. The power flow among the different storage devices is controlled in order to optimise the energetic efficiency and avoid irregular working conditions. A proper control strategy is proposed to keep constant the fuel cell power and limit the charge/discharge batteries current. The control strategy is implemented by means of two hierarchical algorithms on the power converters that interconnect storage devices and generation sources. Experimental tests done on electrical drives to validate the algorithm are illustrated and the results are discussed.
