An implicit algorithm for compressible three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic calculations
A. Y. Aydemir,D.C Barnes +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, an efficient algorithm for the solution of compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations in a three-dimensional geometry is presented, where compressional Alfven waves are treated implicitly, thus greatly increasing the stable time step of the calculation and making it possible to study magnet-hydrodynamic (MHD) phenomenon on resistive time scales.

Study of the Plasma Fiber Accelerator
TL;DR: In this article, an outgrowth of the laser beat-wave accelerator concept, the plasma fiber accelerator, sets the phase velocity of the beat plasma wave at the speed of light by allowing each laser light to have a specific transverse wavenumber (or structure).

Three-dimensional nonlinear incompressible MHD calculations
A. Y. Aydemir,D.C Barnes +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, an algorithm for 3D nonlinear, resistive, incompressible magnetohydrodynamic calculations in a clindrical geometry was developed for m = 1 tearing mode calculations in tokamaks and self reversal of a reversed field pinch.
