Feline hepatic biotransformation of diazepam: Differences between cats and dogs
Cyrina D van Beusekom,Jeroen J. M. W. van den Heuvel,Jan B. Koenderink,Frans G. M. Russel,J. A. Schrickx +4 more
TL;DR: It was concluded that both mechanisms, the slow biotransformation of diazepam as well the inhibition of the bile acid efflux that results in an accumulation of bile acids in the hepatocytes, seem to contribute to the liver injury observed in cats following repetitive treatment withdiazepam.

Profibrotic effects of angiotensin II and transforming growth factor beta on feline kidney epithelial cells.
TL;DR: Modulation of EMT or proliferation of myofibroblasts could serve as a diagnostic tool and a novel therapeutic target to inhibit renal fibrogenesis, and could possibly serve in the therapy of feline renal fibrosis.

The feline bile salt export pump: a structural and functional comparison with canine and human Bsep/BSEP
Cyrina D van Beusekom,Jeroen J. M. W. van den Heuvel,Jan B. Koenderink,J. A. Schrickx,Frans G. M. Russel +4 more
TL;DR: Structure and functional characteristics of cat, dog and human Bsep/BSEP appeared to be very similar, indicating that the properties of this transporter have been highly preserved among the different species.
