Normative values of the nociceptive blink reflex habituation
Michele Corrado,Elena Mazzotta,Gloria Vaghi,Francescantonio Cammarota,Federico Bighiani,Alessandro Antoniazzi,Daniele Martinelli,Maria Pocora,Luca de Martinis,Valentina Grillo,Sara Bottiroli,Armando Perrotta,Giuseppe Cosentino,Grazia Sances,Cristina Tassorelli,Roberto De Icco +15 more
TL;DR: The nociceptive blink reflex habituation normative values are defined in healthy subjects. Habituation phenomenon is confirmed for all study frequencies, with a frequency-dependent pattern and gender-related features.
Neuroprotection by leptin in a rat model of permanent cerebral ischemia: effects on STAT3 phosphorylation in discrete cells of the brain
Diana Amantea,Cristina Tassorelli,Rossella Russo,Francesco Petrelli,Luigi Antonio Morrone,Giacinto Bagetta,Maria Tiziana Corasaniti +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that systemic acute administration of leptin produces neuroprotection in rats subjected to permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAo), as revealed by a significant reduction of the brain infarct volume and neurological deficit up to 7 days after the induction of ischemia.
Proprioceptive Focal Stimulation (Equistasi®) May Improve the Quality of Gait in Middle-Moderate Parkinson's Disease Patients. Double-Blind, Double-Dummy, Randomized, Crossover, Italian Multicentric Study
Antonella Peppe,Stefano Paravati,Maria Giulia Baldassarre,Leila Bakdounes,Fabiola Spolaor,Annamaria Guiotto,D. Pavan,Zimi Sawacha,Sonia Bottino,Daniela Clerici,Nicola Cau,Alessandro Mauro,Giovanni Albani,Micol Avenali,Giorgio Sandrini,Cristina Tassorelli,Daniele Volpe +16 more
TL;DR: The effect of the device on more severe patients may open a new possibility to identify the most appropriate candidate for the management of gait disturbances and postural instability with FV delivered with Equistasi®.
Death in pain: peripheral nerve injury and spinal neurodegenerative mechanisms.
Laura Berliocchi,Rossella Russo,Cristina Tassorelli,Luigi Antonio Morrone,Giacinto Bagetta,Maria Tiziana Corasaniti +5 more
TL;DR: Only new conceptual and technical approaches will determine the relevance of spinal neurodegenerative mechanisms to chronic pain states and allow translation into novel therapeutic targets.
Parthenolide is the component of tanacetum parthenium that inhibits nitroglycerin‐induced Fos activation: studies in an animal model of migraine
TL;DR: Findings strongly suggest that parthenolide is the component responsible for the biological activity of TP as regards its antimigraine effect and provide important information for future controlled clinical trials.
