Shed light on new growth pattern in rapid solidified Ta metal: MD simulation, DFT calculation and CALYPSO search

Driven by the visions of Internet of Things and 5G communications, recent years have seen a paradigm shift in personal mobile devices, from smartphones towards wearable devices. Wearable devices come in many different forms targeting different application scenarios. Among these, the fitness wearable devices (FWDs) are proven to be one of the forms that intrigue the market and occupy an increasing trend in terms of the market share. Nevertheless, although the fitness wearable devices nowadays are functionally self-contained based on the advanced sensor, computation, and communicative technologies, there is still a large gap to truly satisfy the target customer group, i.e., accessible to and usable by a larger quantity of users. This fuels the research area on applying the universal design principles to fitness wearable devices. In this survey, we first present the background of FWDs and show the acceptance and adaption challenges of the corresponding user groups. We then review the universal design principle and how it and its relative approaches could be used in FWDs. Further, we collect the available FWDs that bear the universal design principles in their development circles. Last, we open up the discussion based on the surveyed literature and provide the insight of potential future work.

Envisioning the Future Trends of Smart Assistive Devices to Support Activities of Daily Living for Older Adults with Disabilities

People with vision impairments (PVIs) have inferior physical fitness compared to sighted individuals. Several studies have been conducted to understand concerns, motivations, barriers, and experiences with exercise in the blind population. However, these studies have been limited to the developed regions. India is home to one-third of the world’s blind population and hence it is crucial to understand exercise patterns among PVIs in India. In this work, we interviewed 24 Indian PVIs to uncover novel insights, including minimal use of exercise technology, crucial role of blind schools, and infrastructural and social barriers. We conclude the paper with design recommendations, such as exploiting the design space of restricted walking, emphasizing on schools for the blind, and forming support groups to promote exercises among PVIs.

Understanding Motivations and Barriers to Exercise Among People with Blindness in India

The role of tourism is a significant industry in the world, especially in Indonesia, which is a supporter of the economic sector that has speedy growth and provides a significant amount of employment sectors. In the current decade in Yogyakarta, tourism is growing and will become one of the main pillars of the country's economy. Mrisi Hamlet has advantages and natural characteristics that are good for being a location for leisure and sports. Lakes, rivers, and rice fields are natural resources attracted by tourists, supported by a strategic position, namely in the north of the Kasongan craft center and the south of the Madukismo sugar factory. The purpose of this service community is to assist tourism-aware groups to design facilities and infrastructure that can be developed for tourism to take advantage of nature, improve the economy of the region, and generate new jobs using the 3D SketchUp application. Hamlet tourism planning using 3D SketchUp produces excellent quality images because of the use of escape (real-time rendering and virtual reality), which significantly improves the existing condition. All facilities are designed in an artistic and modern style but adapted to natural and environmental conditions, clean toilets with natural designs, and a choice of andesite (natural) stone equipped with shower and rinse rooms. The facilities were also designed in a pleasing arrangement of playgrounds and gardens, swimming pools, and revitalizing the lake with a dike design as a jogging track area that is long enough with guardrails, tree hammocks, gazebos, and relaxing places exciting photo spots.ABSTRAKPeran wisata menjadi industri besar di dunia khususnya di Indonesia sebagai penunjang sektor ekonomi yang memiliki pertumbuhan sangat cepat serta menyediakan sektor dunia kerja yang banyak. Dekade saat ini di Yogyakarta, pariwisata kian berkembang dan akan menjadi salah satu pilar ekonomi negara yang menjanjikan. Dusun Mrisi memiliki kelebihan dan ciri khas alam yang baik untuk dijadikan lokasi pelesir dan olahraga. Danau, sungai, serta hamparan sawah merupakan kekayaan alam yang bisa diminati oleh wisatawan didukung dengan posisi yang strategis yaitu di utara pusat kerajinan Kasongan dan di Selatan pabrik gula Madukiso. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah membantu kelompok sadar wisata untuk mendesain fasilitas sarana dan prasarana yang bisa dikembangkan untuk pariwisata guna memanfaatkan alam, meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat sekitar, dan membuka lapangan kerja baru dengan menggunakan aplikasi SketchUp 3D. Perencanaan Dusun wisata dengan menggunakan SketchUp 3D menghasilkan gambar dengan kualitas baik karena menggunakan enscape (real-time rendering and virtual reality), memberikan dampak perubahan yang signifikan pada eksisting codition. Semua fasilitas didesain dengan bentuk yang artistik dan modern namun disesuaikan dengan kondisi alam dan lingkungan, toilet yang bersih dengan desain natural dan pilihan batu andesit (alam) dilengkapi dengan ruang mandi dan bilas. Penataan taman bermain dan taman bunga yang baik, kolam renang, serta revitalisasi danau dengan desain tanggul sebagai area joging track yang cukup panjang dengan pagar pembatas, hammock pada pohon, gazebo, serta tempat santai dan spot foto yang menarik.

Desain Perencanaan Taman Wisata Dusun Mrisi Menggunakan Aplikasi SketchUp 3D

Assistive navigation system for visually impaired persons (VIPs) mainly focuses on wayfinding and obstacle detection. Previous work on running navigation for VIPs is limited with less users' perspective. We created the running guide, a pair of wearable glasses based on the insights from user research, enabling visually impaired (VI) runners to navigate the running route and finish the marathon more independently and confidently. Our system provides two types of feedback: (1) spatial 3D auditory feedback from different sources telling the VI runners the right direction; (2) vibrotactile feedback that simulates vibrations when runners run to the boundary of the virtual running track we set before the marathon. We discuss our interaction design and hardware implementation, as well as the social meaning to the visually impaired persons.
