Purification and characterization of adenovirus core protein VII: a histone-like protein that is critical for adenovirus core formation.
TL;DR: Methods for the purification of biologically active recombinant protein VII using an E. coli expression system are described and an in vitro bioluminescence assay revealed that protein VII can be used to enhance the transfection of mammalian cells with lipofectamine/DNA complexes.

Colloidal characteristics and formulation of pure protein particulate vaccines
Paul J. White,Pascal Lc Hickey,Linda Sze Tu,Stephen J. Headey,Martin J. Scanlon,Benjamin James Boyd,Colin W. Pouton +6 more
TL;DR: The colloidal properties of these pure protein particles were investigated to in part inform rational formulation approaches.

Assessing the cellular toxicity of peptide inhibitors of intracellular protein-protein interactions by microinjection.
Sanjeevini Babu Reddiar,Hareth Al-Wassiti,Colin W. Pouton,Cameron J. Nowell,Macgregor A. Matthews,Arfatur Rahman,Nicholas Barlow,Raymond S. Norton +7 more
TL;DR: The investigation highlights the utility of microinjection as a tool for assessing toxicity during development of drugs targeting protein-protein interactions and shows that a lead peptide inhibitor, CP2, had no toxicity even at intracellular concentrations four orders of magnitude higher than its Kd for binding to SPSB2.

Spherulitic morphology and its influence on drug release from melt‐processed biodegradable p(hb‐hv) polyesters
TL;DR: Akhtar et al. as mentioned in this paper examined the morphology and crystallization kinetics of melt-processed films containing a model drug, methyl red, and their influence on drug release kinetics.
