Moving beyond the mousetrap: current and emerging humanized mouse and rat models for investigating prevention and cure strategies against HIV infection and associated pathologies.
Yash Agarwal,Cole Beatty,Shivkumar Biradar,Isabella Castronova,Sara Ho,Kevin Melody,Moses T. Bility +6 more
TL;DR: This review will discuss applications of HIS-humanized mouse models in evaluating the safety and efficacy of therapeutics against HIV reservoirs and associated immunopathology, and delineate the human immune response elicited by candidate HIV vaccines.

Development of humanized mouse and rat models with full-thickness human skin and autologous immune cells
Yash Agarwal,Cole Beatty,Sara Ho,Lance R. Thurlow,Antu Das,Samantha Kelly,Isabella Castronova,Rajeev Salunke,Shivkumar Biradar,Tseten Yeshi,Anthony R. Richardson,Moses T. Bility +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the human Skin and Immune System (hSIS)-humanized NOD-scid IL2Rγnull (NSG) mouse and Sprague-Dawley-Rag2tm2hera Il2rγtm1hera (SRG) rat models, co-engrafted with human full-thickness fetal skin, autologous fetal lymphoid tissues, and auto-fetal liver-derived hematopoietic stem cells, were presented.
WITHDRAWN: Can Traditional Chinese Medicine provide insights into controlling the COVID-19 pandemic: Serpentinization-induced lithospheric long-wavelength magnetic anomalies in Proterozoic bedrocks in a weakened geomagnetic field mediate the aberrant transformation of biogenic molecules in COVID-19 via magnetic catalysis.

Nef Dimerization Defect Abrogates HIV Viremia and Associated Immune Dysregulation in the Bone Marrow-Liver-Thymus-Spleen (BLTS) Humanized Mouse Model.
Shivkumar Biradar,Yash Agarwal,Antu Das,Shu St,Samal J,Sebastian Ho,Cole Beatty,Isabella Castronova,Robbie B. Mailliard,Thomas E. Smithgall,Moses T. Bility +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that preventing Nef dimerization abrogates HIV viremia and the associated immune dysregulation and suggests that Nef Dimerization may be a therapeutic target for future HIV cure strategies.
