Preoperative Imaging Evaluation after Downstaging of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma: A Multi-Center Study.
Alessandro Beleù,Angela Calabrese,G. Rizzo,Paola Capelli,Nicolò Bellini,Simona Caloggero,Roberto Calbi,Paolo Tinazzi Martini,Riccardo De Robertis,Giovanni Carbognin,Giovanni Marchegiani,Aldo Scarpa,Roberto Salvia,Claudio Bassi,Mirko D'Onofrio +14 more
TL;DR: Imaging methods tend to underestimate PDAC resectability after neoadjuvant-CRT, and IOA is poor to fair in evaluating most of the qualitative parameters of downstaged pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

Pancreatectomy with Para-Aortic Lymph Node Dissection for Pancreatic Head Adenocarcinoma: Pattern of Nodal Metastasis Spread and Analysis of Prognostic Factors
Salvatore Paiella,Giuseppe Malleo,Laura Maggino,Claudio Bassi,Roberto Salvia,Giovanni Butturini +5 more
TL;DR: Metastases to station 16b1 are associated with a decreased survival in comparison with pN1/16b1− patients, yet longer than in matched locally advanced patients.

International validation and update of the Amsterdam model for prediction of survival after pancreatoduodenectomy for pancreatic cancer.
Stijn van Roessel,Marin Strijker,Ewout W. Steyerberg,Jesse V. Groen,J. Sven D. Mieog,Vincent P. Groot,Jin He,Matteo De Pastena,Giovanni Marchegiani,Claudio Bassi,Amal Suhool,Jin-Young Jang,Olivier R. Busch,Asif Halimi,L. Zarantonello,Bas Groot Koerkamp,Jaswinder S. Samra,Anubhav Mittal,Anthony J. Gill,Louisa Bolm,Casper H.J. van Eijck,Mohammed Abu Hilal,Marco Del Chiaro,Tobias Keck,Adnan Alseidi,Christopher L. Wolfgang,Giuseppe Malleo,Marc G. Besselink +27 more
TL;DR: This large international study validated and updated the Amsterdam model for survival prediction after pancreatoduodenectomy for pancreatic cancer with a fairly accurate model performance and robustness across different countries, while novel markers may be added in the future.

Role of local ablative techniques (Radiofrequency ablation and Irreversible Electroporation) in the treatment of pancreatic cancer
Salvatore Paiella,Roberto Salvia,Roberto Girelli,Isabella Frigerio,Alessandro Giardino,Mirko D'Onofrio,Giulia De Marchi,Claudio Bassi +7 more
TL;DR: This article provides part of the experience with the application of RFA and IRE on pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and shows how these techniques can be used to modify the neoplastic microenvironment and stimulate both directly and indirectly the anti-tumor immune system.

Motility analysis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma cells reveals a role for the atypical zeta isoform of protein kinase C in cancer cell movement.
Carlo Laudanna,Claudio Sorio,Cristina Tecchio,Eugene C. Butcher,Eugene C. Butcher,Antonio Bonora,Claudio Bassi,Aldo Scarpa +7 more
TL;DR: Analysis of the signaling mechanisms involved in the regulation of pancreatic adenocarcinoma cell motility showed that the atypical ζ isozyme of the serine-threonine protein kinase C (PKC) plays a critical role in maintaining a high MS in motile subclones, as demonstrated by the inhibitory effect of cell permeable peptides with sequence corresponding to the pseudosubstrate inhibitory region of the atency ζ PKC.
