TL;DR: PXS-5505, a first-in-class selective pan-lysyl oxidase inhibitor, is developed and validated and it reduces chemotherapy-induced desmoplasia and stiffness, thereby improving chemotherapy response and survival in pancreatic cancer models.

Predictive factors for postoperative pancreatic fistula.
TL;DR: To the Editor: I n their article, “Options and Limitations in Applying the Fistula Classification by the International Study Group for Pancreatic Fistula,” Gebauer et al, acknowledge that this classification lacks prognostic power, but want to emphasize that it was never meant to have “predictive” value.

Reinforced stapler versus ultrasonic dissector for pancreatic transection and stump closure for distal pancreatectomy: A propensity matched analysis.
Alessandra Pulvirenti,Luca Landoni,Alex Borin,Matteo De Pastena,Martina Fontana,Antonio Pea,Alessandro Esposito,Luca Casetti,Massimiliano Tuveri,Salvatore Paiella,Giovanni Marchegiani,Giuseppe Malleo,Roberto Salvia,Claudio Bassi +13 more
TL;DR: The results of this study suggest that the use of reinforced stapler for pancreatic transection decreases the risk of postoperative pancreatic fistula.

Reappraisal of post-pancreatectomy hemorrhage (PPH) classifications: do we need to redefine grades A and B?
Alvaro Andres Duarte Garces,Stefano Andrianello,Giovanni Marchegiani,Roberta Piccolo,Erica Secchettin,Salvatore Paiella,Giuseppe Malleo,Roberto Salvia,Claudio Bassi +8 more
TL;DR: The use of "concomitant POPF" instead of "time of onset" segregated three discrete categories that differed significantly in terms of clinical outcomes and management.

TL;DR: A high suspicion of a pancreatic tumor is necessary when CP is diagnosed in a patient with atypical epidemiological characteristics for this condition, possibly female, aged over 50, who is not a smoker or drinker, and suffers from non-insulin-dependent diabetes.
