Guideline-Based Critical Care Pathway Improves Long-Term Clinical Outcomes in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome
Jo-Jo Hai,Chun-Ka Wong,Ka-Chun Un,Ka-Lam Wong,Zhe-Yu Zhang,Pak-Hei Chan,Yui-Ming Lam,Wing-Sze Chan,Cheung-Chi Simon Lam,Chor Cheung Tam,Yiu-Tung Wong,See-Yue Yung,Ki-Wan Chan,Chung-Wah Siu,Chu-Pak Lau,Hung-Fat Tse +15 more
TL;DR: Patients managed by a critical care pathway for acute coronary syndrome had better overall survival and long-term compliance with guideline-directed medical therapy than those managed with standard care.
Avoidance of Electromagnetic Interference to Implantable Cardiovertor‐Defibrillator During Atrioventricular Node Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation Using Transvenous Cryoablation
TL;DR: A case of the absence of electromagnetic interference to an implantable cardioverter defibrillator during atrioventricular nodal ablation for atrial fibrillation to avoid inappropriate shock is presented.

Sensitivity of ventricular systolic function to afterload during veno‐arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation
Pauline Y. Ng,Tammy Sin Kwan Ma,April Ip,Man Kei Lee,Andrew Kei-Yan Ng,Chun-Wai Ngai,Wai-Ming Chan,Chung-Wah Siu,Wai-Ching Sin +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that LV systolic function was significantly more sensitive to the afterload effects of V-A ECMO during the acute stage of myocardial dysfunction compared with the delayed phase, which informs the clinical utility of echocardiographic assessment in patients on V- A ECMO.

Manual aspiration prior to stenting does not reduce the incidence of filter no reflow in saphenous vein graft lesions protected by FilterWire EX/EZ.
TL;DR: Adjunctive manual thrombus aspiration fails to reduce the filter no reflow, and probably has no additional benefit in saphenous vein graft lesions already protected by FilterWire EX/EZ.

Long-term clinical outcomes of drug-eluting stents vs. bare-metal stents in Chinese geriatric patients.
TL;DR: DES-based PCI was associated with a significant reduction in the three-year cumulative rate of all-cause mortality, cardiovascular death, and myocardial infarction compared with BMS, without increased risk of TLR, stent thrombosis, or bleeding complications at three years in this group of Chinese geriatric patients.
