Inhibition of FtsZ polymerization by SulA, an inhibitor of septation in Escherichia coli
TL;DR: It is shown that a MalE-SulA fusion that retains this inhibitory function in vivo inhibits the GTPase activity and polymerization of FtsZ in vitro and indicates that SulA blocks Z ring formation by blocking FTSZ polymerization.

FtsN, a late recruit to the septum in Escherichia coli
TL;DR: The localization of FtsN in Escherichia coli was investigated by immunofluorescence microscopy and found to localize to the septum in a ring pattern similar to that observed for FtsZ and FtsA, although the frequency of cells with rings was less.

Analysis of the interaction of FtsZ with itself, GTP, and FtsA.
TL;DR: Results indicate that the specificity determinants for GTP binding are different than those for the GTPase superfamily.
Temperature shift experiments with an ftsZ84(Ts) strain reveal rapid dynamics of FtsZ localization and indicate that the Z ring is required throughout septation and cannot reoccupy division sites once constriction has initiated.
TL;DR: The results indicate that the Z ring is required throughout septation and indicate that nucleation sites are formed in the absence of FtsZ function.
Interaction between FtsZ and inhibitors of cell division.
TL;DR: Interactions were observed among various members of the Min system, and MinE was found to reduce the interaction between MinC and MinD, and the implications of these findings for cell division are discussed.
