TL;DR: The results show that five days of prophylactic C. butyricum treatment significantly reduced mortality by 40% and decreased the CCl4-induced levels of ALT and AST in the serum of these mice, and that the intestinal flora changes after the intraperitoneal injection of C clostridia orders, which are the known producers of the anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative metabolite butyrate.

TL;DR: The clostridium butyricum is capable of relieving oxidative stress response in the acute liver injury by improving the activity of superoxide dismutase and catalase as well as reducing the content of malonaldehyde in the liver tissue, and can reduce the accumulation of IL-1beta, IL-6 and TNF-alpha at the same time.
