Improved techniques for managing enterprise applications on mobile devices are described herein. Each enterprise mobile application running on the mobile device has an associated policy through which it interacts with its environment. The policy selectively blocks or allows activities involving the enterprise application in accordance with rules established by the enterprise. Together, the enterprise applications running on the mobile device form a set of managed applications. Managed applications are typically allowed to exchange data with other managed applications, but are blocked from exchanging data with other applications, such as the user's own personal applications. Policies may be defined to manage data sharing, mobile resource management, application specific information, networking and data access solutions, device cloud and transfer, dual mode application software, enterprise app store access, and virtualized application and resources, among other things.

A method comprising providing a plurality of links to a plurality of end-user devices communicatively coupled to a network system, a particular link of the plurality of links supporting control-plane communications between the network system and a particular end-user device of the plurality of end-user devices over one or more wireless access networks; receiving a message from a server communicatively coupled to the network system, the message comprising payload for delivery to the particular end-user device; generating an encrypted message comprising the payload and an identifier identifying a particular device agent of a plurality of device agents on the particular end-user device, the identifier configured to assist in delivering at least a portion of the payload to the particular device agent on the particular end-user device; and sending the encrypted message to the particular end-user device over the particular link.

A mobile terminal (100) includes a camera unit (121), a pictogram extraction unit (182) and a controller (180). The camera unit (121) obtains image information corresponding to at least one of a still image and a moving image. The pictogram extraction unit (182) extracts at least one pictogram from the obtained image information. The controller (180) detects information related to the extracted pictogram, and displays the detected information to be overlapped with the obtained image information. In the mobile terminal, the controller (180) includes, as the detected information, at least one of previously recorded information and currently searched information related to the extracted pictogram.

A method for provisioning wireless devices for use of services offered by a service provider on a wireless network, comprising: receiving at a provisioning system from a wireless device a wireless device identifier, the wireless device having a first subset of the services; identifying from the wireless device identifier a subscriber associated with the wireless device, the subscriber having a second subset of the services; and, if the first and second subsets conflict, enabling none, one, or both of the first and second subsets of services in accordance with conflict resolution information for the service provider.

Method and system for provisioning wireless services

A system for provisioning an associated service for a device is described. The associated service allows a user to access a primary service and, optionally, one or more additional services through a mobile handheld device. The associated service is provisioned entirely through the handheld device. A system for provisioning the associated service receives provisioning requests from the device and creates and configures the associated service and, if needed, the primary service. The primary and additional services may be e-mail services, calendar services, contact management services or other data services. The associated service may be used simultaneously with different types of primary and additional services.

System and methods for provisioning a service for a communication device

A device-based network service provisioning model is provided in which a wireless device facilitates a subscriber to provide provisioning information for activating carrier, value-added or other service provider services automatically. The model facilitates subscriber control while balancing service provider needs. Provisioning components may be provided to a device during a provisioning session to maintain service provider branding, look and feel and other control over a subscriber's experience. Provisioning components may be dynamically generated to capture current services, subscriber plans and particular device criteria. In one embodiment, service provider-side components define a service-oriented interface (e.g. Web services) for receiving a subscriber's provisioning information. Device-side components define an interface to request and receive the provisioning components and to provide provisioning information to the service-oriented interface. A gateway may be interposed between the device and service-oriented interface to provide the provisioning components to the wireless device and proxy provisioning session communications.

A method of identifying content of interest in a structured electronic document by an electronic device having a processor, an input device, and a display device, includes rendering a structured electronic document to the display device; receiving through the input device at least two separate indications of content elements within the rendered structured electronic document; and identifying with the processor a common characteristic of the indicated content elements, and identifying any further content element within the rendered structured electronic document sharing the common characteristic with the indicated content elements.

A provisioning system may be used to receive the provisioning request message from the external system and transmit information in the provisioning request message to the service provider to trigger the provisioning event. The provisioning request message may have a data structure that includes a header section and a body section. The body section may contain a provisioning entity section that includes information identifying an entity to which the provisioning event pertains, wherein the provisioning entity section includes one or more attributes defined by the external system.
