APOBEC1 complementation factor (A1CF) is dispensable for C-to-U RNA editing in vivo.
Elizabeth M. Snyder,Christopher McCarty,Adrienne Mehalow,Karen L. Svenson,Stephen A. Murray,Ron Korstanje,Robert Braun +6 more
TL;DR: Observations demonstrate that A1 CF does not act as the APOBEC1 complementation factor in vivo under normal physiological conditions and suggests new roles for A1CF, specifically within the male adult kidney.
Androgen receptor deficiency in monocytes/macrophages does not alter adiposity or glucose homeostasis in male mice.
Katya B. Rubinow,Barbara Houston,Shari Wang,Leela Goodspeed,Kayoko Ogimoto,Gregory J. Morton,Christopher McCarty,Robert Braun,Stephanie T. Page +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that AR signaling specifically in monocytes/macrophages does not contribute to the regulation of systemic energy balance, adiposity, or insulin sensitivity in male mice.

gom1 Mutant Mice as a Model of Otitis Media
Tihua Zheng,Wenyi Huang,He Ping Yu,Bo Hua Hu,Peter Song,Christopher McCarty,Lu Lu,Josephine J. Jaster,Ge Jin,Yan Zhang,Qing Yin Zheng +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors report that the mice with genetic otitis media one (gom1) mutants are prone to OM and demonstrate many common features of OM, such as middle ear effusion and hearing impairment, including elevated thresholds of auditory-evoked brainstem response (ABR) and lack of cochlear microphonic responses.
