Geilhufe,Sergey Ostanin,Wolfram Hergert,Ingrid Mertig,Ingrid Mertig,Gerd Schön,Arthur Ernst,Arthur Ernst,Wulf Wulfhekel +21 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the magnetic moments of single holmium atoms on a highly conductive metallic substrate can reach lifetimes of the order of minutes.
Dynamic magnetic excitations in 3d and 4f atoms and clusters
Timofey Balashov,Toshio Miyamachi,Toshio Miyamachi,T. Schuh,Tobias Märkl,Christopher Bresch,Wulf Wulfhekel +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic anisotropic properties of rare earth metal atoms were investigated and the authors showed that the spin flips of a tunneling electron provided by a scanning tunneling microscope may be flipped and angular momentum is transferred to the magnetic system.
