Reduction of tantala mechanical losses in Ta2O5/SiO2 coatings for the next generation of VIRGO and LIGO interferometric gravitational waves detectors
C. Comtet,D. Forest,P. Ganau,G. M. Harry,J. M. Mackowski,Christine Michel,J.-L. Montorio,N. Morgado,V. Pierro,L. Pinard,I. Pinto,A. Remillieux +11 more
- 11 Mar 2007
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a model to calculate multilayer mechanical losses for low mechanical losses Ta2O5/SiO2 coatings and found that the TaO5 losses were dominating compared to the SiO2 losses.

Multi-dietary tracer approach reveals little overlap in foraging ecology between seasonally sympatric ringed and harp seals in the high Arctic
Jean-Pierre Desforges,Doreen Kohlbach,Cody G. Carlyle,Christine Michel,Lisa L. Loseto,Bruno Rosenberg,David Zurakowski,Steven H. Ferguson +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored dietary resource competition between seasonally sympatric ringed seals and harp seals in the Canadian Arctic and found that ringed seal relied to a far greater extent on sympatic carbon sources and a greater extent of benthic/coastal prey species compared to the more pelagic feeding harp seal species.
