A cost model for determining an optimal automation level in discrete batch manufacturing
TL;DR: In this article, an economic model for determining the optimal automation level for discrete batch manufacturing is presented, which describes how the costs of parts vary between manufacturing systems of different types at differing automation levels, the part costs often being highly dependent upon the automation level selected.

Sustainability performance indicators at shop floor level in large manufacturing companies
Mats Zackrisson,Martin Kurdve,Sasha Shahbazi,Magnus Wiktorsson,Mats Winroth,Anna Landström,Peter Almström,Carin Andersson,Christina Windmark,Anna Ericson Öberg,Andreas Myrelid +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated sustainability in the performance measurement systems of Swedish manufacturing companies and found that 90% of the indicators have at least an indirect relation to one or more of the sustainability dimensions economy, environment and social, of which 26% are at least indirectly related to the environmental dimension.

Present state analysis of business performance measurement systems in large manufacturing companies
Anna Landström,Carin Andersson,Christina Windmark,Peter Almström,Mats Winroth,Magnus Wiktorsson,Sasha Shahbazi,Martin Kurdve,Mats Zackrisson,Anna Ericsson Öberg,Andreas Myrelid +10 more
- 01 Jun 2016
TL;DR: In this article, the present state of the performance measurement systems (PMS) at 7 sites of 6 different large Swedish manufacturing companies is investigated, and the authors empirically investigate the state of these systems.
A production performance analysis regarding downtime and downtime pattern
Christina Windmark,Jan-Eric Ståhl,Per Gabrielson,Carin Andersson +3 more
- 01 Jan 2012
TL;DR: In this paper, the downtimes in a particular manufacturing line were classified on the basis of what generated them; a production performance analysis was carried out, and then a cost model was applied to the results.
