Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease that can affect many organs, including the skin, joints, the central nervous system and the kidneys. Women of childbearing age and certain racial groups are typically predisposed to developing the condition. Rare, inherited, single-gene complement deficiencies are strongly associated with SLE, but the disease is inherited in a polygenic manner in most patients. Genetic interactions with environmental factors, particularly UV light exposure, Epstein-Barr virus infection and hormonal factors, might initiate the disease, resulting in immune dysregulation at the level of cytokines, T cells, B cells and macrophages. Diagnosis is primarily clinical and remains challenging because of the heterogeneity of SLE. Classification criteria have aided clinical trials, but, despite this, only one drug (that is, belimumab) has been approved for use in SLE in the past 60 years. The 10-year mortality has improved and toxic adverse effects of older medications such as cyclophosphamide and glucocorticoids have been partially offset by newer drugs such as mycophenolate mofetil and glucocorticoid-sparing regimes. However, further improvements have been hampered by the adverse effects of renal and neuropsychiatric involvement and late diagnosis. Adding to this burden is the increased risk of premature cardiovascular disease in SLE together with the risk of infection made worse by immunosuppressive therapy. Challenges remain with treatment-resistant disease and symptoms such as fatigue. Newer therapies may bring hope of better outcomes, and the refinement to stem cell and genetic techniques might offer a cure in the future.

A translation apparatus is provided which comprises: an inputting section for inputting a source document in a natural language; a layout analyzing section for analyzing layout information including cascade information, itemization information, numbered itemization information, labeled itemization information and separator line information in the source document inputted by the inputting section and specifying a translation range on the basis of the layout information; a translation processing section for translating a source document text in the specified translation range into a second language; and an outputting section for outputting a translated text provided by the translation processing section.

Automated Planning: Theory and Practice.

Inter-organizational systems span from business models over business process models to their execution on top of a service-oriented architecture. In our project BSopt we have developed an integrated model-driven approach that addresses the different layers and builds up-on well-estabilshed languages on each of these layers. When applying our integrated methodology we recognized that models for the same business case are similar, but still varying for different business partner networks. Accordingly, a systematic approach to derive a model from another model, i.e., from a reference model, is needed. Significant achievements have been made by the reference modeling community in finding ways to leverage the potentials of model reuse in business process modeling. In this paper we outline the potentials of adapting design techniques known from reference modeling to the specific needs of inter-organizational system develpment even if we do not provide a solution yet.

Es gibt zahlreiche Publikationen, die die digitale Transformation im Tief- und Tunnelbau propagieren. Als Losungsansatz wird dabei immer wieder Building Information Modeling (BIM) genannt und die Umsetzung der digitalen Transformation basierend auf dieser Methodik gefordert. Der prototypische Charakter eines Tunnelbauprojekts erschwert jedoch eine standardisierte Vorgehensweise. Hinzu kommt, dass die beteiligten Fachdisziplinen fur unterschiedliche Gewerke individuelle Softwaretools mit proprietaren (nicht standardisierten) Datenformaten nutzen. Durch diese in sich geschlossenen Datenmodelle ist eine offene BIM Arbeitsweise (Open BIM) nur schwer zu realisieren. Das hat der Lehrstuhl fur Subsurface Engineering an der Montanuniversitat Leoben zum Anlass genommen und zwei anwendungsorientierte Forschungsprojekte zur digitalen Transformation im Tief- und Tunnelbau lanciert, deren Inhalte in diesem Artikel kurz vorgestellt werden. Das „Zentrum am Berg (ZaB)“ dient in beiden Projekten als zentrale Infrastruktur zu Evaluierungszwecken.

Conceptual languages to describe business models - not business process models - become increasingly important. One of the most expressive approaches towards business models is the Resource-Event-Agent (REA) ontology. REA has a substantial back-up in economic and accounting theory, but did lack a dedicated representation language for many years. Recently, we have introduced a domain specific modeling language including a REA meta model and a pertinent graphical notation. In this paper we build upon our previous work, but aim for a representation language that is able to serve as a serialization syntax also for other REA modeling approaches using UML class diagrams or OWL, etc. As a result we come up with REA-XML, an XML schema that allows a precise, tool-independent representation of REA models and that may also serve as an REA model exchange language between different tools.
