Mechanical properties of the patellar tendon in elite volleyball players with and without patellar tendinopathy
Christian Helland,Jens Bojsen-Møller,Truls Raastad,Olivier R. Seynnes,Marie M. Moltubakk,Vidar Jakobsen,Håvard Visnes,Håvard Visnes,Roald Bahr +8 more
TL;DR: Patellar tendinopathy is associated with a decrease in the mechanical and material properties of the tendon in elite athletes subjected to a high volume of jumping activity, however, compared with their healthy counterparts, tendinopathic volleyball players have a better ability to utilise the stretch-shortening cycle when jumping.
Effect of androgenic-anabolic steroids and heavy strength training on patellar tendon morphological and mechanical properties.
Olivier R. Seynnes,Sigitas Kamandulis,Ramutis Kairaitis,Christian Helland,Emma-Louise Campbell,Marius Brazaitis,Albertas Skurvydas,Marco Narici,Marco Narici +8 more
TL;DR: Findings indicate that tendon adaptations from years of heavy resistance training are different in AAS users, suggesting differences in collagen remodeling, which could be linked to a higher risk of tendon injury.

Training Strategies to Improve Muscle Power: Is Olympic-style Weightlifting Relevant?
Christian Helland,Eirik Hole,Erik Iversen,Monica Charlotte Olsson,Olivier R. Seynnes,Paul Andre Solberg,Gøran Paulsen +6 more
TL;DR: MSPT was time-efficient and equally or more effective than FSPT training in improving vertical jumping and sprinting performance and OWL was generally ineffective and inferior to the two other interventions.
Strength and Power Testing of Athletes: A Multicenter Study of Test-Retest Reliability.
Kolbjørn Lindberg,Paul Andre Solberg,Thomas Bjørnsen,Christian Helland,Bent R. Rønnestad,Martin Thorsen Frank,Thomas A. Haugen,Sindre Østerås,Morten B Kristoffersen,Magnus Midttun,Fredrik O. Sæland,Ingrid Eythorsdottir,Gøran Paulsen +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors examined the test-retest reliability of common assessments for measuring strength and power of the lower body in high-performing athletes, and highlighted the importance of controlling testing reliability at each testing center and not relying on data from others.

Force–velocity profiling of sprinting athletes: single-run vs. multiple-run methods
Christian Helland,Thomas A. Haugen,Elvir Rakovic,Ola Eriksrud,Olivier R. Seynnes,Antti A. Mero,Gøran Paulsen +6 more
TL;DR: In practice, both methods may have a purpose, but the single-run and the multiple-run methods appear to measure somewhat different sprint properties and cannot be used interchangeably.
