Growth and characterisation of CsLiB6O10 (CLBO) crystals
TL;DR: In this paper, the observed variations in habit for CsLiB 6 O 10 (CLBO) grown from different seed orientations may be explained by assuming that CLBO crystallises in an ideal tetragonal bipyramidal form bounded by 8 {1.0.1} faces.

The quality and performance of the organic non-linear optical material (-)2-(α-methylbenzylamino)-5-nitropyridine (MBA-NP)
Raymond T. Bailey,Frank R. Cruickshank,S. M. G. Guthrie,B.J. McArdle,H. Morrison,David Pugh,Eea Shepherd,John N. Sherwood,Choon Sup Yoon,Raman Kashyap,B. K. Nayar,K. I. White +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, a coherence length of 2 μm (cf. MNA 0.7 μm and quartz 20 μm) and phase-matching second harmonic generation (efficiency 0.5% at 58.8 MW cm -2 ; comparable with lithium iodate) was observed for 1.05 μm radiation incident at 28.8° to the y -axis on the y-z incident plane.

The growth of large single crystals of the organic nonlinear optical material 2-(α-methylbenzylamino)-5-nitropyridine
P. J. Halfpenny,H. Morrison,R.I. Ristic,E.E.A. Shepherd,John N. Sherwood,G. S. Simpson,Choon Sup Yoon +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the growth behavior of the important organic nonlinear optical material 2-(a-methylbenzylamino)-5-nitropyridine (MBANP) (space group P2 1 ) has been investigated and techniques have been developed for the preparation of large (up to 7 cm x 4 cm x 3 cm) high-quality single crystals suitable for detailed optical, dielectric, ultrasonic and piezoelectric studies and for device fabrication.

Transport and trapping of photocharges in liquid crystals placed between photoconductive polymer layers
TL;DR: In this article, the transport and trapping of photocharges in liquid crystals placed between photoconductive polymer layers was investigated systematically, and the transport of the photocharges was explained in terms of current paths that are formed along the bright sites of an interference pattern.

Seeded supercooled melt growth and polar morphology of organic nonlinear optical crystal, meta-nitroaniline (mNA)
G Ryu,Choon Sup Yoon +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the seeded growth of meta-nitroaniline (mNA) crystal from the supercooled melt was reported, where a seed was introduced into the purified mNA melt 0.1°C above the melting temperature (Tm=112.0°C) and crystal was grown at constant supercooling within the metastable zone.
