The Role of Fashion in the Characters of Online Games

Mis-en-Scene is a direction method of image aesthetics for constructing screen and space. Mis-en-Scene is important factor not only in plays and movies, but also in animations, and it is a strong method to induce audience to immerse in the works and to continue the immersion. This study examined animation's Mis-en-Scene based on theories of Mis-en-Scene in movies, how Mis-en-Scene is directed and expressed in virtual spaces, and what factors and characteristics induce audience to immerse in the works and continue the immersion through analysis on visual Mis-en-Scene factors of a specific case, VR animation <Pearl>. It was found that as visual Mis-en-Scene factors, character and props, background, unique quality and friendliness of character, natural movement and acting, symbolism and utilization, and variety and consistency of background induce and sustain immersion. It is thought that this study would helpful for related areas based on the findings which suggest that there is a need for differentiated measure and method to catch audience's eyes and sustain immersion utilizing characteristics of vidual Mis-en-Scene factors in VR animation in the future.

A Study on Visual Mise-en-Scene of VR Animation

Since 2016, the VR market has been on the rapid growth. The most critical and arising issue in the VR market is VR contents. That is because it is necessary to develop making techniques and various VR contents to satisfy users' immersion and interaction as much as possible. Therefore, this study focused on VR image contents, conducted domestic and foreign cases of the components of visual and auditory inducement to keep and improve immersion, and thereby tried to find a right direction of visual and auditory inducement. As a result, the visual and auditory components of visual and auditory inducement were found to be photographing, edition, lighting, stitching, graphics, effect, voice actor's narration, dubbing, character voice, background sound, and sound effect; its technical and content components were found to be photographing technique, edition technique, lighting, stitching, graphics and effect, sound and sound effect, and theatric direction based on Mise-en-Scene, lines and narration of characters, and movements of characters and objets. For VR image contents, not only visual and auditory components, but technical and content components are necessary to improve immersion. In the future, it will be necessary to continue to research them.

A Study on Visual and Auditory Inducement of VR Image Contents and the Inducement Components of for Immersion Improvement

From the perspective that RPG games give players a sense of reality, the characterization of game characters can be said to be at the heart of design behavior. The personality of a unique character enhances the player's concern and commitment, allowing players to experience a variety of experiences. Through theoretical research and case analysis, this paper analyzes the expression of individuality in RPG game character design. In the RPG game, the way to express the character's individuality is first based on the game's time-space background, plot, task, etc. to inform the character's general gender, race, occupation, and skills. In line with the application and use of the characters, the roles will be developed in a concrete and rich way, and the shapes, movements, colors, costumes and weapons will be more refined. The purpose of this study is to obtain the main factors that influence RPG character's personality design from the viewpoint of perceptual design theory. In addition, it is proposed that the RPG game character personality design method should be adopted.

Analysis of RPG Characters' Personality Performance

In this study, a wrist protector was manufactured and designed using 3D printing technology to prevent wrist pain when riding a bicycle with a high forward-tilted saddle. The efficiency of the design was analyzed in objective and subjective evaluations. First, seven women in their twenties selected their most preferred design by subjective evaluation from among three 3D wrist protectors. Then electromyography (EMG) was measured and subjective sensations were evaluated while wearing and not wearing the preferred 3D wrist protector as selected by cyclists. Experimental results showed that a wrist-bending angle of 30 degrees was most favored. When the 3D wrist protector was worn, muscle activity was smaller at the flexor carpus radialis position than when the 3D wrist protector was not worn; muscle fatigue was also lower. In the subjective evaluation, the 3D wrist protector was more comfortable than no protector, and wrist fatigue was also lower. In addition, the wrist protector was rated positively for its design suitability, size adequacy, ease of operation, and fit; however, cyclists felt that a little more cushioning was needed.
