Iridium Supported on Porous Polypyridine-Oxadiazole as High Active and Recyclable Catalyst for Borrowing Hydrogen Reaction

Benzothiazole‐doped porous organic polymers (POP‐MBTS) were synthesized from a copolymerization reaction of 2‐(6‐(4‐vinylphenyl)pyridin‐2‐yl)benzo[d]thiazole with divinylbenzene. The corresponding POP‐MBTS‐Ir was obtained and fully characterized using SEM, TEM, EDS, TGA, XPS, and N2 sorption isotherms, which disclosed that this catalyst has a high surface area, hierarchical porosity, and thermodynamic stability. Importantly, this catalyst revealed a high catalytic activity for ten different kinds of borrowing hydrogen and dehydrogenation reactions in water with a good recovery performance. Furthermore, mechanistic investigations were conducted for the synthesis of triazine derivatives.

Synthesis of Supported Indazolyl-Pyridyl-Quinoline Iridium Catalyst and Its Application to N-Alkylation of 2-Aminobenzothiazoles

A set of neutral C,C-chelate half-sandwich iridium(III) complexes have been prepared with NHC ligands that contain pendant aromatic rings as potentially chelating donor sites. The catalytic activity of such iridium complexes has been investigated for the acceptorless dehydrogenation (AD) reactions of alcohols and for the transfer hydrogenation reactions of ketones. The prepared iridium(III) complexes show excellent catalytic activity for AD reactions of a wide range of secondary alcohols, and they are also shown to be effective for the synthesis of aldehydes from primary alcohols without the observation of undesired byproducts such as esters. Additionally, these complexes are also highly efficient in transfer hydrogenation of ketones and aldehydes, which give the alcohols in good yields under mild conditions. The exact structure and bonding mode of the NHC-based iridium complexes was identified using various spectroscopic methods and single crystal X-ray analysis.

An unsymmetrical diphenylphosphino-pyridinyl-triazole ligand was synthesized and characterized through IR, NMR and MS and the corresponding earth-abundant metal complex (cobalt) was prepared. Considering energy consumption and environmental friendliness, it is necessary to turn this diphenylphosphino-pyridinyl-triazole cobalt complex into a recyclable catalyst, which could easily be reused. Therefore, a heterogeneous catalyst was synthesized through Co-doping of C3N4, and the Co-nanoparticles on C3N4 revealed high catalytic activity for the synthesis of quinolines with good recovery performance.
