Effect of calcium oxide on mechanical properties and microstructure of alkali-activated slag composites at sub-zero temperature
TL;DR: In this paper, an appropriate CaO content of 3-wt% was determined based on the setting time and mechanical testing, and the results showed that it increased the compressive and flexural strength of AAS by 40% and 48% at the age of 1 day and by 5% and 7% at 28 days at a temperature of −10°C.

Cement-Lime-Fly Ash Bound Macadam Pavement Base Material with Enhanced Early-Age Strength and Suppressed Drying Shrinkage via Incorporation of Slag and Gypsum
TL;DR: In this article, a novel cement-lime-fly-ash bound macadam (CLFBM) as pavement base material was designed by incorporating Portland cement, dihydrate gypsum (CaSO4·2H2O), and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) into the lime-fly ash bound macam (LFBM), for the purpose of the early opening to traffic.
