ZEB1 induces ER-α promoter hypermethylation and confers antiestrogen resistance in breast cancer.
Jianbo Zhang,Chen Zhou,Huimin Jiang,Lin Liang,Wen Shi,Quansheng Zhang,Peiqing Sun,Rong Xiang,Yue Wang,Shuang Yang +9 more
TL;DR: It is reported that ectopic zinc-finger E-box binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1) is associated with ER-α deficiency in breast cancer cells and thus confers antiestrogen resistance, and the depletion of ZEB1 by RNA interference causes ER-β promoter demethylation, restores ER- α expression, and increases the responsiveness of breast cancers to antiestrogens treatment.
Inactivation of p38 MAPK contributes to stem cell-like properties of non-small cell lung cancer.
Yan Fang,Juan Wang,Guanwen Wang,Chen Zhou,Peng Wang,Shuangtao Zhao,Shaorong Zhao,Shan Huang,Weijun Su,Weijun Su,Pengling Jiang,Antao Chang,Antao Chang,Rong Xiang,Peiqing Sun,Peiqing Sun +15 more
TL;DR: A novel mechanism by which cancer stem cell properties are acquired and maintained in a cancer cell population is demonstrated, a new function of the p38 pathway is revealed, and a new pathway that can potentially serve as a target for cancer therapies aimed at eliminating CSCs is identified.
N6-Methyladenosine Reader YTHDF2 Enhances Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer Cell Proliferation and Metastasis through Mediating circ_SFMBT2 Degradation
TL;DR: YTHDF2 could facilitate NSCLC cell proliferation and metastasis via the Hippo/YAP pathway activation by mediating circ_SFMBT2 degradation, and knockdown of LATS2 effectively abrogated the inhibitory effects ofcirc_SF MBT2 overexpression on NSCLc cell malignancies.
Selective regulation of tuft cell-like small cell lung cancer by novel transcriptional co-activators C11orf53 and COLCA2
TL;DR: The analysis pipeline enables identification and prioritization of understudied but important, selectively essential genes, leading to the identification of two new transcriptional co-activators for the class II POU domain transcription factors.
ZEB1 confers stem cell-like properties in breast cancer by targeting neurogenin-3.
Chen Zhou,Huimin Jiang,Zhen Zhang,Guomin Zhang,Hang Wang,Quansheng Zhang,Peiqing Sun,Rong Xiang,Shuang Yang +8 more
TL;DR: It is reported that ectopic expression of zinc finger E-box binding homeobox 1 protein (ZEB1) results in the acquisition of CSC properties by breast cancer cells, leading to tumor initiation and progression in vitro and in vivo.
