Enhanced strength and temperature dependence of mechanical properties of Li at small scales and its implications for Li metal anodes
TL;DR: Results on the mechanical properties of Li show that Li exhibits a strong size effect at room and elevated temperature, and elastic and shear moduli as a function of crystallographic orientation gleaned from experiments and first-principles calculations show a high level of elastic anisotropy.

Molecular structure of highly excited resonant states in Mg 24 and the corresponding Be 8 + O 16 and C 12 + C 12 decays
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the decay widths of high-lying resonances in {sup 24}Mg using a cluster model and found that the calculated widths are sensitive to the angular momentum carried by the outgoing cluster.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the relationship between shape evolution and spin and isospin in the even-$A$ Se and Kr isotopes, and showed that the shape transition from prolate to oblate along the yrast line occurring in the Se isotope is caused by a shape transition in the Kr isotope.

Atomic layer deposition and etch in a single plasma chamber for critical dimension control
Xiang Zhou,Yoshie Kimura,Zhang Duming,Chen Xu,Ganesh Upadhyaya,Brooks Mitchell +5 more
- 21 Nov 2017
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors described a method for critical dimension (CD) control of substrate features using integrated atomic layer deposition (ALD) and etch processes, which can increase the width of the mask pattern of features to the desired width.

Alpha-particle decays from excited states in 24 Mg
TL;DR: Using a cluster model based on the Woods-Saxon potential, alpha-particle decays from excited states in 24Mg have been systematically investigated in this paper, where the decay widths are very sensitive to the angular momentum carried by the outgoing cluster.
