The method comprises pretreating fowl egg spectroscopic data, building a mathematical model for determining a hatching capability through a qualitative analysis method and determining the model with the highest determination accuracy as the optimal model for determining or detecting a hatching capability of a fowl egg to be detected. The fowl egg hatching capability comprises two types of M+ and M-, the M+ has a strong hatching capability and can realize nestling hatching and guarantee nestling health, and the M- has a weak hatching capability and cannot realize nestling hatching or hatch nestling with weak physique. An experiment proves that the visible light/near infrared spectroscopy-based fowl egg hatching capability determination method improves accuracy of hatching capabilities of Nongda eggs No. 3 hatched for 9 days and 11 days to 78.57% and 80.95%.
