- 04 Dec 2019
TL;DR: In a hypoxic microenvironment, HIF-2α upregulation promotes steatotic HCC progression by activating lipid synthesis via the PI3K-AKT-mTOR pathway, which can be a biomarker and target in developing specific therapeutic measures for NAFLD-HCC patients.
The Impact of Laparoscopic Converted to Open Colectomy on Short-Term and Oncologic Outcomes for Colon Cancer
Jian Li,Hui Guo,Xiao-dong Guan,Chaonong Cai,Lukun Yang,Yue-Chan Li,Yan-Hua Zhu,Peiping Li,Xialei Liu,Dong-Jie Yang +9 more
TL;DR: Conversion to open colectomy from an initial laparoscopic approach does not worsen the long-term survival in patients with non-metastatic colon cancer and is comparable between conversion (CONV) and open resection (OPEN) groups.

A new method of near-infrared fluorescence image-guided hepatectomy for patients with hepatolithiasis: a randomized controlled trial.
Kunshan He,Xiaopeng Hong,Chongwei Chi,Chaonong Cai,Kun Wang,Peiping Li,Xialei Liu,Jian Li,Hong Shan,Jie Tian +9 more
TL;DR: The efficacy of NIRF imaging with ICG using DPM-I for treating hepatolithiasis is demonstrated and is associated with less blood loss and lower rates of margins with dilated bile ducts.

Nuclear GAPDH is vital for hypoxia-induced hepatic stellate cell apoptosis and is indicative of aggressive hepatocellular carcinoma behavior
Yihang Gong,Baojia Zou,Siqi Peng,Peiping Li,Genglong Zhu,Jiafan Chen,Jianxu Chen,Xialei Liu,Wenying Zhou,Lei Ding,Y.-m. Chen,Linjuan Zeng,Baimeng Zhang,Chaonong Cai,Jian Li +14 more
TL;DR: Findings provide a novel mechanism underlying the involvement of intranuclear GAPDH in hypoxia-induced HSCs apoptosis and a correlation between nuclear GAPDh levels and the clinical prognosis, which may prompt the development of a novel therapeutic strategy for HCC.
Efficacy of Near-Infrared Fluorescence-Guided Hepatectomy for the Detection of Colorectal Liver Metastases: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Kunshan He,Xiaopeng Hong,Chongwei Chi,Chaonong Cai,Yu An,Peiping Li,Xialei Liu,Hong Shan,Jie Tian,Jian Li +9 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors compared the number of intrahepatic colorectal liver metastases detected intraoperatively and postoperative recovery data between patients who underwent traditional hepatectomy (nonindocyanine green group) and traditional hepatactomy plus intraoperative indochenine green fluorescence imaging, and found that the nonindochenne green group was significantly greater (mean [standard deviation], 3.03 [1.58] vs. 2.28 [ 1.35] and the 1-year recurrence rate was also lower (p = 0.012) and the postoperative hospital stay was shorter.
