Electrospun Porous Engineered Nanofiber Materials: A Versatile Medium for Energy and Environmental Applications

Increasing demand for non-biodegradable plastics undesirably leads to their accumulation and calls for an appropriate solution for this global crisis. Environmental impacts of PET waste have long been addressed; although some remedies have been proposed, their extensive use in the modern world use demands new studies and recycling techniques. It shows the inadequacy of previous solutions to eliminate this environmental problem. Therefore, researching this subject should not be considered an insignificant issue. Distinctively, this review article has a specific reliance on the use of recycled PET fibers in the production of high-consumption and value-added products that, in addition to considering environmental aspects, can also be attractive to the market. This article deals with recent studies in three product categories (concrete, nonwoven fabrics, yarns) made from recycled PET fibers and shows the high potential of PET fibers for the future industry.

Recent Studies on Recycled PET Fibers: Production and Applications: a Review

Geotextiles, a group of high-performance materials, have grown during the last decades into needful auxiliaries when it comes to infrastructure, soil, construction, agriculture and environmental applications. Although geotextiles made of synthetic fibers (geosynthetics) are considered a modern achievement, the basic concept dates back to ancient times when textiles consisting of locally available natural fibers were employed to increase the stability of roads and soils. In recent decades, considering the growing interest in environmental protection and sustainable development based on using renewable resources and the recovery and recycling of waste of various origins, the use of natural fibers-based geotextiles is a viable alternative, despite their limited-life service owing to their biodegradability. In addition to this feature, their low cost, good mechanical properties and large-scale accessibility recommend them for geo-engineering applications, environmental sensitive applications in geotechnical engineering, such as land improvements and soil erosion control. This paper focuses on geotextiles as a versatile tool in environmental applications given their high theoretic and practical relevance as substantiated by recent literature reports. Natural and synthetic geotextiles are presented herein, as well as their features that recommend them for geo-engineering. Insights on the main types of applications of geotextiles are also included, along with a wide variety of materials employed to perform specific functions.

The thickness of self -adhesive layer is 20 mu m -50 mu m, and the thickness on intermediate strut layer is 30 mu m -60 mu m, and the outer thickness of separation is 30 mu m -60 mu m. The self -adhesive layer is formed by polyolefin elastomer or styrene block copolymer and polyethylene mixture, and high density intermediate strut layer is formed by polyethylene from high pressure process, high density polyethylene and the mixture of polyethylene elastomer, and high strength separation skin is formed by polyvinyl alcohol and polyethylene mixture. The utility model provides risen the deflection and the toughness of product, the high strength barrier layer improves film separation effect, and product stability is good, separation nature high, environmental pollution nature is low, can be effectively to being protected by protection face.

Separating nature of high resistant self -adhesion type protection film

The invention relates to a self-adhesive polyethylene protective film and a preparation method of a self-adhesive layer thereof. The self-adhesive polyethylene protective film is a three-layer co-extruded blown polyethylene film or three-layer co-extruded cast polyethylene film, and includes a self-adhesive layer, an intermediate isolation layer, and a composite printed outer layer. The self-adhesive layer is prepared by mixing a polyolefin elastomer or styrene block copolymer with polyethylene, then adding polyisobutene with different molecular mass and performing mixing. The self-adhesive layer comprises the following components by weight part: 30-75 of a polyolefin elastomer or styrene block copolymer; 15-55 of polyethylene; and 1-20 of polyisobutylene. The intermediate isolation layer is prepared by mixing of high density polyethylene and linear low density polyethylene, and the composite printed outer layer is made of linear low density polyethylene. The self-adhesive polyethylene protective film provided by the invention overcomes the problems of undesirable attachment effect, difficult viscosity selection and the like caused by poor initial viscosity of existing self-adhesive polyethylene protective films during use, has the advantages of good initial viscosity, strong adhesion force and high stability, effectively reduces the film pasting difficulty, and improves the use efficiency.
