TL;DR: The method of reducing additional operation when the authors add disks to the stripping system can fast mapping like equation based mapping method because of using so-called SZIT(Striping Zone Information Table) and equations and can reduce the relocation overhead in striping system at adding disks.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method of accelerating I/O between a user memory and a disk using a PCI memory, which consists of: allocating the PCI memory connected to a disk, determining whether the request for the disk I /O is a writing request or a reading request, reading data of a block of the disk into the PCI memory and transmitting the data read into the user memory using a DMA (Direct Memory Access) scheme; and when the request was the writing request, transmitting data of the user RAM to the PCi memory using the DMA
