Subcellular distribution and chemical forms of cadmium in Phytolacca americana L.
TL;DR: It could be suggested that Cd compartmentation with organo-ligands in vacuole or integrated with pectates and proteins in cell wall might be responsible for the adaptation of pokeweed to Cd stress.

Effects of soil properties on heavy metal bioavailability and accumulation in crop grains under different farmland use patterns
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors identify the key soil properties influencing heavy metal bioavailability and accumulation in food crops, 81 crop samples and 81 corresponding agricultural soil samples were collected from rape, wheat, and paddy fields.
Effects of lead on neurogenesis during zebrafish embryonic brain development.
Changming Dou,Jie Zhang +1 more
TL;DR: It is identified that Pb-induced neurotoxicity can be caused by impaired neurogenesis, resulting in markedly increased apoptosis of special types of neural cells, neuron and glia cells.

Interaction of Pseudomonas putida CZ1 with clays and ability of the composite to immobilize copper and zinc from solution
TL;DR: The results suggest that bacteria play an important role in regulating the mobility of heavy metals in the soil environment.

Accumulation and interaction of calcium and manganese in Phytolacca americana
TL;DR: The results suggest that Ca oxalate crystals in pokeweed have no direct effect on the detoxification of Mn, and the finding of element P and O in the Mn-containing crystals indicates that excess Mn could be deposited by phosphate, which could contribute to Mn accumulation and detoxification in poke weed.
