Ventilatory effects of subarachnoid fentanyl in the elderly.
Giustino Varrassi,Celleno D,Giorgio Capogna,Costantino P,M. Emanuelli,Sebastiani M,A. F. Pesce,David Niv +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that subarachnoid fentanyl 50 μg can cause an early respiratory depression and its use as a postoperative analgesic should be avoided in the elderly.

Which induction drug for cesarean section? a comparison of thiopental sodium, propofol, and midazolam
Celleno D,Giorgio Capogna,M. Emanuelli,Giustino Varrassi,F. Muratori,Costantino P,Sebastiani M +6 more
TL;DR: The slow induction time with midazolam may put the mother at risk for pulmonary inhalation and a plane of anesthesia that may risk awareness and potential neonatal depression is the main drawback of the two newer induction drugs.

Frequency of hypotension and bradycardia during general anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, or integrated epidural-general anesthesia for total hip replacement.
Battista Borghi,Andrea Casati,Sergio Iuorio,Celleno D,Michele Michael,Pierluigi Serafini,Antonio Pusceddu,Guido Fanelli +7 more
TL;DR: The induction of general anesthesia in patients with an epidural block up to T10 increased the odds of developing clinically relevant hypotension as compared with those patients who received no epidural blocks, and was associated with a twofold increase of the odds with the use of epidural anesthesia alone.
63
Intrathecal buprenorphine for postoperative analgesia in the elderly patient.
TL;DR: It is shown that buprenorphine is an effective analgesic, suitable for the management of postoperative pain in elderly patients.

Epidural fentanyl plus bupivacaine 0.125 per cent for labour: analgesic effects.
Celleno D,Giorgio Capogna +1 more
TL;DR: Addition of fentanyl did not affect the duration of labour, the method of delivery and the neonatal neurobehaviour scores, and all patients were evaluated for duration and quality of analgesia.
