Insulin Resistance in Children: Consensus, Perspective, and Future Directions
Claire Levy-Marchal,Claire Levy-Marchal,Silva A. Arslanian,Wayne S. Cutfield,Alan R. Sinaiko,Céline Druet,Céline Druet,M. Loredana Marcovecchio,Francesco Chiarelli +8 more
TL;DR: There are no clear criteria to define insulin resistance in children, and surrogate markers such as fasting insulin are poor measures of insulin sensitivity, so based on current screening criteria and methodology, there is no justification for screening children for insulin resistance.

Insulin resistance and the metabolic syndrome in obese French children.
Céline Druet,Myriam Dabbas,Véronique Baltakse,Catherine Payen,Béatrice Jouret,Christine Baud,Didier Chevenne,Claude Ricour,Maithé Tauber,Michel Polak,Corinne Alberti,Claire Levy-Marchal +11 more
TL;DR: To estimate the frequency of the metabolic syndrome and of the insulin resistance syndrome in overweight or obese French children and to determine the risk factors is to be determined.

Characterization of insulin secretion and resistance in type 2 diabetes of adolescents
Céline Druet,Nadia Tubiana-Rufi,Didier Chevenne,Odile Rigal,Michel Polak,Claire Levy-Marchal +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the relative contributions of the two components of Type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance and insulin secretion, early in the history of the disease in adolescents were investigated, and the first-phase insulin release was evaluated after iv glucose stimulation.
Insulin Resistance and the Metabolic Syndrome in Obese French Children
Céline Druet,Myriam Dabbast,Véronique Baltakse,Catherine Payen,Béatrice Jouret,Christine Baud,Didier Chevenne,Claude Ricourt,Maithé Tauber,Michel Polak,Corinne Alberti,Claire Levy-Marchal +11 more
TL;DR: It is shown that metabolic abnormalities and insulin resistance are frequent in overweight and obese children and adolescents and in this study of obese European children, IRS appeared to be a relevant marker for cardiovascular complications.

RAPID COMMUNICATION Characterization of Insulin Secretion and Resistance in Type 2 Diabetes of Adolescents
Céline Druet,Nadia Tubiana-Rufi,Didier Chevenne,Odile Rigal,Michel Polak,Claire Levy-Marchal +5 more
- 01 Jan 2006
TL;DR: Investigating the relative contributions of the two components of T2D, insulin resistance and insulin secretion, early in the history of the disease in adolescents concluded that the failure of beta-cell function is a major component in the course of T1D in childhood.
