Sirt1 Inhibits Resistin Expression in Aortic Stenosis
Sophie Carter,Stéphanie Miard,Catherine Roy-Bellavance,Louise Boivin,Zhuo Li,Philippe Pibarot,Patrick Mathieu,Frédéric Picard +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that, in calcified AS, levels of Sirt1 are reduced whereas those of resistin are increased within aortic valve leaflets, suggesting that modification of SIRT1 expression and/or activity could represent a novel approach against inflammation in AS.
The R148.3 Gene Modulates Caenorhabditis elegans Lifespan and Fat Metabolism.
Catherine Roy-Bellavance,Jennifer M Grants,Stéphanie Miard,Kayoung Lee,Evelyne L. Rondeau,Chantal Guillemette,Martin J. Simard,Stefan Taubert,Frédéric Picard +8 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that R148.3 is an SS that modulates fat mass and longevity in an independent manner and is associated with increased food uptake and lower expression of genes involved in lipid oxidation.

Diagnostic, screening and therapeutic applications of ocab-based tools
Frédéric Picard,Sophie Carter,Louise Boivin,Evelyne L. Rondeau,Catherine Roy-Bellavance +4 more
- 31 May 2011
TL;DR: In this article, the expression of the OcaB protein is modulated, in adipocytes, during adipogenesis, the development of insulin resistance, the glucose intolerance and ageing, and the application thus provides methods of characterizing an individual susceptibility to develop adipogenesis.
