Hypopituitarism induced by traumatic brain injury in the transition phase
Gianluca Aimaretti,Maria Rosaria Ambrosio,C. Di Somma,Maurizio Gasperi,Salvatore Cannavò,Carla Scaroni,L. De Marinis,Roberto Baldelli,G. Bona,G. Giordano,Ezio Ghigo +10 more
TL;DR: The results show the high risk of TBI-induced hypopituitarism also in the transition age, and it is recommended that pediatric endocrinologists follow-up pituitary function of children and adolescents after brain injuries.

Patients with Cushing's syndrome have increased intimal media thickness at different vascular levels: comparison with a population matched for similar cardiovascular risk factors.
Nora Albiger,R M Testa,B. Almoto,M Ferrari,Franca Bilora,F. Petrobelli,Antonio Pagnan,Franco Mantero,Carla Scaroni +8 more
TL;DR: Patients with CS have more severe atherosclerotic damage than a population matched for similar cardiovascular risk factors and multiple events related to long-term cortisol effects on metabolism and at vascular and endothelial sites may increase the risk of cardiovascular damage in patients with CS.

The Pathophysiology and Treatment of Hypertension in Patients With Cushing's Syndrome.
TL;DR: The mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of CS are discussed and the pros and the cons of the various antihypertensive agents that are presently available to treat these patients are discussed.
Increased rate of intracranial saccular aneurysms in acromegaly: an MR angiography study and review of the literature.
Renzo Manara,Pietro Maffei,Valentina Citton,Silvia Rizzati,Giulia Bommarito,Mario Ermani,Irene Albano,Alessandro Della Puppa,Carla Carollo,Giacomo Pavesi,Massimo Scanarini,Filippo Ceccato,Nicola Sicolo,Franco Mantero,Carla Scaroni,Chiara Martini +15 more
TL;DR: GH serum excess seems to carry an increased risk of developing intracranial aneurysms and a neuroradiological evaluation of the intrac cranial circulation might therefore be considered in the diagnostic work-up of patients affected with acromegaly.
Second-line tests in the differential diagnosis of ACTH-dependent Cushing’s syndrome
Mattia Barbot,Laura Trementino,Marialuisa Zilio,Filippo Ceccato,Nora Albiger,Andrea Daniele,Anna Chiara Frigo,Rodica Mardari,Giuseppe Rolma,Marco Boscaro,Giorgio Arnaldi,Carla Scaroni +11 more
TL;DR: Patients with CD showed a stronger response to HDDST and CRH, and the adopted cut-offs showed a good SE and SP in discriminating them from patients with EAS, suggesting the choice of tests may play an important part in the differential diagnosis of ACTH-dependent CS.
