TL;DR: Bedmap2 as discussed by the authors is a suite of gridded products describing surface elevation, ice-thickness and the seafloor and subglacial bed elevation of the Antarctic south of 60° S. In particular, the Bedmap2 ice thickness grid is made from 25 million measurements, over two orders of magnitude more than were used in Bedmap1.

TL;DR: The new North Greenland Eemian Ice Drilling (‘NEEM’) ice core is presented and shows only a modest ice-sheet response to the strong warming in the early Eemians, which was probably driven by the decreasing summer insolation.

TL;DR: The Shallow Radar (SHARAD) on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has imaged the internal stratigraphy of the north polar layered deposits of Mars, revealing a laterally continuous deposition of layers which typically consist of four packets of finely spaced reflectors separated by homogeneous interpacket regions of nearly pure ice.
