TL;DR: A post hoc analysis of the prospective, multicentre DURAPOP trial suggests a predominant role of comorbidities, the severity of post-operative peritonitis and possibly of documented piperacillin/tazobactam treatment on the occurrence of therapeutic failures, regardless of their type.
