Investigative research of diesel/ethanol advanced combustion strategies: A comparison of Premixed Charge Compression Ignition (PCCI) and Direct Dual Fuel Stratification (DDFS)
TL;DR: Direct Dual Fuel Stratification (DDFS) is a new low-temperature combustion (LTC) approach that employs dual fuel direct injection in the combustion chamber as discussed by the authors , where a relatively small proportion of diesel fuel was pre-injected and utilized to activate the burning of the premixed charge followed by direct injection of a diesel/ethanol mixture (75% diesel, 25% ethanol by volume).

Effects of ammonia energy fractions, diesel injection timings, and loads on combustion and emission characteristics of PFI-DI ammonia-diesel engines
Can Yang,Zhongxuan Wang,Jianwei Li,Xiaobei Cheng +3 more
TL;DR: The combustion and emission characteristics of PFI-DI ammonia-diesel engines are complex, with trade-offs among rough combustion, thermal efficiency, and emissions. Increasing ammonia energy fraction and load reduces CO2 and NO+NO2 emissions but increases NH3 and N2O emissions. Advanced injection timing improves thermal efficiency but exacerbates NO+NO2 emissions.

The introduced error associated with the contact-type detection for piston surface temperature in combustion engines using coaxial thermocouples and its eliminating algorithm
TL;DR: In this paper , a two-dimensional model of a coaxial thermocouple is established, based on which the introduced error is quantitatively evaluated firstly, followed by a discussion on the mechanisms of the introduced errors next.
