Klf15 deficiency is a molecular link between heart failure and aortic aneurysm formation.
Saptarsi M. Haldar,Yuan Lu,Darwin Jeyaraj,Daiji Kawanami,Yingjie Cui,Sam J. Eapen,Caili Hao,Yan Li,Yongqiu Doughman,Michiko Watanabe,Koichi Shimizu,Helena Kuivaniemi,Junichi Sadoshima,Kenneth B. Margulies,Thomas P. Cappola,Mukesh K. Jain +15 more
TL;DR: The authors showed that deficiency of the transcriptional regulator Kruppel-like factor 15 (Klf15) in mice leads to both heart failure and aortic aneurysm formation through a shared molecular mechanism.
A novel role of CCN3 in regulating endothelial inflammation
Zhiyong Lin,Viswanath Natesan,Hong Shi,Anne Hamik,Daiji Kawanami,Caili Hao,Ganapati H. Mahabaleshwar,Weiye Wang,Zheng Gen Jin,G. Brandon Atkins,Sue M. Firth,Laure Rittié,Bernard Perbal,Bernard Perbal,Bernard Perbal,Mukesh K. Jain +15 more
TL;DR: Gain and loss-of-function mechanistic studies demonstrated that CCN3 negatively regulates nuclear factor kappaB (NF-κB) activity by reducing its translocation into the nucleus and subsequent binding to the VCAM-1 promoter, suggesting thatCCN3’s anti-inflammatory effects occur secondary to inhibition of NF-κBs nuclear accumulation.
