The electromagnetic calorimeter of the AMS-02 experiment
Manuela Vecchi,L. Basara,G. Bigongiari,F. Cervelli,Guo-Ming Chen,G. M. Chen,H. S. Chen,G. Coignet,S. Di Falco,S. Elles,A. Fiasson,D. Fougeron,G. Gallucci,Corinne Goy,M. Incagli,R. Kossakowki,V. Lepareur,Z. H. Li,M. Maire,M. Paniccia,Fabrizio Giulio Luca Pilo,S. Rosier-Lees,X. W. Tang,C. Vannini,J. P. Vialle,H. L. Zhuang +25 more
TL;DR: The electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL) of the AMS-02 experiment is a 3-dimensional sampling calorometer, made of lead and scintillating fibers as mentioned in this paper, which allows for high granularity, with 18 samplings in the longitudinal direction, and 72 sampling in the lateral direction.

- 01 Jan 2005
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a stand-alone trigger for detecting photons with energy above 4 GeV with an efficiency of about 100 % with an analog section, comparing the photomultiplier signal with a given threshold.

The Space Qualified Read-Out Electronics for the e.m. Calorimeter (ECAL) of the AMS-02 Experiment
F. Cervelli,S. Di Falco,M. Incagli,C. Magazzù,E. Pedreschi,M. Piendibene,Fabrizio Giulio Luca Pilo,F. Spinella,C. Vannini +8 more
TL;DR: The Electromagnetic Calorimeter (ECAL) of the AMS-02 experiment is a fine grained lead-scintillating fiber sampling calorimeter that allows precise, 3-dimensional imaging of the longitudinal and lateral shower development, providing high electron/hadron discrimination ( ~ 106) in combination with the other AMS02 detectors and a good energy resolution:?E/E? 10%/?(E( GeV)) as mentioned in this paper.

The electronics for the AMS-02 calorimeter
F. Cervelli,S. Di Falco,M. Incagli,C. Vannini,C. Magazzù,E. Pedreschi,M. Piendibene,Fabrizio Giulio Luca Pilo,F. Spinella +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a 3D imaging electromagnetic calorimeter for the AMS02 space experiment has been presented, with stringent requirements on mechanical and thermal stability, power consumption, radiation hardness and double redundancy.

A reduced scale e.m. calorimeter prototype for the AMS-02 experiment
F. Cervelli,Guo-Ming Chen,G. Coignet,S. Di Falco,E. Falchini,T. Lomtadze,Z. Liu,Paolo Maestro,P. S. Marrocchesi,Riccardo Paoletti,Fabrizio Giulio Luca Pilo,Nicola Turini,Giada Valle,C. Vannini,G. Venanzoni,Zengliang Yu +15 more
TL;DR: A reduced scale prototype of the Pb-SciFi sampling e.m.calorimeter for the AMS-02 experiment was tested at CERN SPS beam line X5 at energies from 5 to 250 GeV as discussed by the authors.
