Airborne multi-frequency L- to Ka-band radiometric measurements over forests
Simonetta Paloscia,Giovanni Macelloni,Paolo Pampaloni,R. Ruisi,C. Susini +4 more
- 24 Jul 2000
TL;DR: In this article, a multifrequency microwave radiometric measurements with airborne instruments were carried out over six forest stands in Tuscany, Italy, and the collected data pointed out the sensitivity of microwave emission to forest type and biomass.

Passive microwave remote sensing of vegetation biomass
Giovanni Macelloni,Simonetta Paloscia,Paolo Pampaloni,R. Ruisi,C. Susini +4 more
- 08 Aug 1994
TL;DR: The potential of microwave radiometry in the detection of vegetation biomass on different spatial scales has been further investigated by analyzing multitemporal data collected with the Special Sensor Microwave Imager (SMM/I) on several European test areas and in field experiments with a ground based radiometer.

Monitoring crop biomass and soil moisture with airborne microwave radiometers
Giovanni Macelloni,Simonetta Paloscia,Paolo Pampaloni,R. Ruisi,C. Susini +4 more
- 28 Jun 1999
TL;DR: The radiometric measurements were carried out using the French airplane ARAT equipped with two microwave IROE radiometers at C- and X- bands and one infrared sensor and it was possible to separate six vegetation classes of the whole area.

Comparison of the albedo derived from MOS-B and WIFS with NOAA-AVHRR
B. Eibl,Wolfram Mauser,Sophie Moulin,J. Noilhan,Catherine Ottlé,Simonetta Paloscia,Paolo Pampaloni,T. Podvin,F. Quaracino,J.-L. Roujean,C. Rozier,R. Ruisi,C. Susini,O. Taconet,N. Tallet,J. L. Thony,Y. Travi,H. Van Leewen,M. Vauclin,D. Vidal-Madjar,O.W. Vonder +20 more
- 06 Jul 1998
TL;DR: The IRS-P3 satellite has two new data sets available: MOS-B with a repetition rate of 19 days and WIFS with a temporal coverage of 5 to 19 days as discussed by the authors.
The use of the Special Sensor Microwave Imager (SSM/I) for detecting land surface features in Europe
C. Susini,Simonetta Paloscia,Paolo Pampaloni,R. Ruisi +3 more
- 18 Aug 1993
TL;DR: The major microwave characteristics of various types of land surfaces obtained from their emissivity spectra and polarization state are investigated and discussed.
