Biomass Allocation in Cyperus papyrus in a Tropical Wetland, Lake Naivasha, Kenya1
TL;DR: The potential effect of increases in nutrient supply to the lake's floating papyrus is increasing of the plants' investment in above-water material and reduction of the amount of energy invested in uptake and storage Biomass and its allocation between culms, panicles, roots, and rhizomes was measured in 17 sites around the 150 km2 lake as discussed by the authors.

David M. Harper,Andrew C. Smart,Stephanie Coley,Sophie Schmitz,Anne-Christine Gouder de Beauregard,Rick North,C. S. Adams,Paul Obade,Mbogo Kamau +8 more
TL;DR: The abundance and habitat distribution of Procambarus clarkii, an exotic herbivore at Lake Naivasha, Kenya, was studied between 1987 and 1999 and its growth and morphometrics were similar to other locations where the species has been studied.

The dynamics and ecology of exotic tropical species in floating plant mats: Lake Naivasha, Kenya
C. S. Adams,R. R. Boar,D. S. Hubble,M. Gikungu,David M. Harper,Phil Hickley,N. Tarras-Wahlberg +6 more
TL;DR: The floating water fern Salvinia molesta has occurred in Lake Naivasha since the early 1960s and during this period has obstructed fishing activities and navigation, and a second floating weed, Eichhornia crassipes (water hyacinth), has colonised the lake.
