TL;DR: The Superconducting Proton Linac (SPLion Linac) at CERN as mentioned in this paper was designed to accelerate the proton beam up to 3.5 GeV and achieved state-of-the-art performance in terms of brightness and intensity.

TL;DR: The Neutrino Factory as discussed by the authors is a new concept for an accelerator that produces a high-intensity, high-energy beam of electron and muon neutrinos, the ultimate tool for neutrino oscillation studies and the only machine conceived up today that could help detect CP violation of leptons.
Studies on ECR4 for the CERN ion program
TL;DR: In this paper, the behavior of the afterglow for different operation modes of the ECR4 at CERN has been continued to understand the differences between pulsed afterglows and continuous operation, and their effect on ion yield and beam reproducibility.

TL;DR: In this article, a preliminary feasibility study is presented based on the availability of the CERN LEP2 superconducting RF system after LEP de-commissioning, with the aim of reliably providing at its output twice the presently foreseen transverse beam brightness at the ultimate intensity envisaged for LHC.
