A gaming system for implementing coinless gaming environment having a central processing system interconnected to a plurality of gaming machines and a plurality of change machines. The central processing system includes a processor and a memory having a plurality of memory locations for storing data. Each memory location is identified by a unique address in memory. In communication with the central processing system are a plurality of gaming machines having an input for accepting encoded media and an input for accepting standard paper currency. The gaming machines also contain an output including a bar code printer for encoding and distributing gaming coupons to a player. The central processing is also in communication with one or more change machines having an input for accepting gaming coupons, an input for accepting paper currency and an output for generating and dispensing encoded gaming coupons and an output for dispensing value either in the form of paper currency and/or coins. By interspersing gaming machines and change machines in a gaming establishment, the gaming establishment can eliminate the use of coins or tokens.

Method and device for implementing a coinless gaming environment

A new chaotic neural network and its VLSI architecture for digital signal encryption and decryption are proposed in the paper. According to a binary sequence generated from a chaotic system, the biases and weights of neurons are set. The chaotic neural network can be used to encrypt digital signals. The network's features are as follows: (1) high security; (2) no distortion; and (3) suitable for system integration. The MATLAB simulation results are also included for demonstration. In order to implement the system, its VLSI architecture with low hardware complexity and high computing speed is also designed. Its FPGA realization result indicates that the proposed design works correctly and its encryption speed achieves 40 Mbps. It indicates that the integration of the proposed system and MPEG2 for TV distribution, communication, and storage is practicable.

Design and realization of a new chaotic neural encryption/decryption network

The Conditional Access System (CAS) technology is applied in pay TV systems to help the service providers to control users' authorization. So service providers charge subscribing fee by scrambling the program with conditional access system as well as control the illegal receiving the charged program in digital television (DTV) broadcasting. In this paper, we proposed a based on cryptosystem secure communication between set-top box and smart card in DTV broadcasting. Our proposed protocol has following merits: security, dynamic session key, mutual authentication and users could freely chosen password. Moreover, the proposed scheme could prevent smart card clone and MacCormac Hack problems which are serious problems in DTV broadcasting.

A gaming apparatus which comprises a slot machine capable of accepting either paper currency, preprinted coupons, or cash out slips. The slot machine also includes a printer that prints and dispenses cash out slips which include a bar code representing a unique identification that provides the amount of “winnings”. The cash out slips can be scanned into a separate currency dispenser at a Cashier's Station for receiving currency, either from the dispenser or from an attendant. A central processing unit (CPU) generates the unique codes for regulating the game to be played, the wager limits of the game and the validity of the free play coupons or the cash out tickets. The above gaming system avoids having to use coins or tokens in the operation of slot machines.
