Evolution over a 10 year period of the epidemiological profile of 1,726 newly diagnosed HCV patients in Belgium.
Christiane Gerard,Jean Delwaide,Dolores Vaira,B. Bastens,B. Servais,E. Wain,C. Bataille,Guy Daenen,Jacques Belaiche +8 more
TL;DR: The epidemiological profile of HCV patients showed significant changes during this period, and the number of new patients increased with time and the frequency of genotype 1b decreased, whereas dialysis tended to disappear as a cause of infection.
HCV genotype 4 in Belgium: three distinct patterns among patients from European and African origin.
Jean Delwaide,Catherine Reenaers,Christiane Gerard,Dolores Vaira,B. Bastens,Brigitte Serwir,A. Bekhti,C. Bataille,E. Wain,P. De Leeuw,Guy Daenen,Thierry Mesureur,J. M. Sente,Jacques Belaiche +13 more
TL;DR: Three different patterns of genotype 4 carriers were observed, corresponding to three different spreading profiles, and the clinical management, and in particular the rates of eligibility for treatment, were similar for these three groups.

Hepatitis C virus genotype 5 in southern belgium: epidemiological characteristics and response to therapy.
Jean Delwaide,Christiane Gerard,Catherine Reenaers,Dolores Vaira,B. Bastens,C. Bataille,B. Servais,Bernard Maes,Jacques Belaiche,Groupe Liegeois D'etudes Des Virus Hepatotropes +9 more

Liver transplantation for acute hepatic failure due to chemotherapy-induced HBV reactivation in lymphoma patients
Timothée Noterdaeme,Luc Longrée,C. Bataille,A Deroover,Anne Lamproye,Jean Delwaide,Yves Beguin,Pierre Honore,Olivier Detry +8 more
TL;DR: 2 cases of cancer-free and HBV graft re-infection-free survival after LT performed for terminal liver failure arising from HBV reactivation induced by chemotherapy for advanced stage lymphoma may suggest that patients suffering from hematologic malignancies and terminal liver disease can be considered for LT if the prognosis of their hematological malignancy is good.
