Complete Genome Sequence of Virulence-Enhancing Siphophage VHS1 from Vibrio harveyi
Krit Khemayan,Anuphap Prachumwat,Anuphap Prachumwat,Burachai Sonthayanon,Burachai Sonthayanon,Aungkul Intaraprasong,Siriporn Sriurairatana,Timothy W. Flegel,Timothy W. Flegel +8 more
TL;DR: The complete, circular genome of VHS1 is presented and annotate, and the last protein was identified as a component of the species-specific toxin mixture described above as being associated with agglutination of hemocytes from P. monodon.
35
Molecular cloning of a cDNA encoding a member of CHH/MIH/GIH family from Penaeus monodon and analysis of its gene structure.
TL;DR: The presence of only one intron in Pem-CMG gene suggests that this gene is structurally different from the previously reported MIH gene of Charybdis feriatus and CHH-like gene of Metapenaeus ensis which possess two introns in their coding sequences.
29
Expression of biologically active crustacean hyperglycemic hormone (CHH) of Penaeus monodon in Pichia pastoris.
Supattra Treerattrakool,Apinunt Udomkit,Lily Eurwilaichitr,Burachai Sonthayanon,Sakol Panyim +4 more
TL;DR: Comb complementary DNA encoding a peptide related to the CHH/MIH/GIH family of the black tiger prawn Penaeus monodon was successfully expressed in the yeast Pichia pastoris, which demonstrates that Pem-CMG peptide functions as hyperglycemic hormone in P. monodon.

Predicted sub-populations in a marine shrimp proteome as revealed by combined EST and cDNA data from multiple Penaeus species
Pimlapas Leekitcharoenphon,Udon Taweemuang,Prasit Palittapongarnpim,Prasit Palittapongarnpim,Rattanawadee Kotewong,Thararat Supasiri,Burachai Sonthayanon,Burachai Sonthayanon +7 more
TL;DR: Shrimp ESTs indicated that the shrimp proteome is comprised of sub-populations of proteins similar to those common to both insect and nematode models, those present specifically in either model, or neither.
Expression analysis of selected haemocyte transcripts from black tiger shrimp infected with yellow head virus
Lerdchai Chintapitaksakul,Apinunt Udomkit,Duncan R. Smith,Sakol Panyim,Burachai Sonthayanon +4 more
- 01 Sep 2008
TL;DR: The reduced level of expressed selenoprotein W transcript in YHV-infected shrimp haemocytes might be related to systemic apoptosis and death of the shrimp.
