Short Communication : Early Detection of Mastitis Using Infrared Thermography in Dairy Cows
Armağan Çolak,Bülent Polat,Zafer Okumuş,Muhammet Dursun Kaya,Latif Emrah Yanmaz,Armagan Hayirli +5 more
TL;DR: Infrared thermography is sensitive enough to perceive changes in SST in response to varying degrees of severity of the mammary gland infection as reflected by the CMT score, suggesting that as a noninvasive tool, IRT can be employed for screening dairy cows for mastitis.

Sensitivity and specificity of infrared thermography in detection of subclinical mastitis in dairy cows.
Bülent Polat,Armağan Çolak,Mehmet Cengiz,Latif Emrah Yanmaz,Hasan Oral,Ayhan Baştan,Semra Kaya,Armagan Hayirli +7 more
TL;DR: As a noninvasive and quick tool, IRT can be employed for screening subclinical mastitis via measuring USST, with a high predictive diagnostic ability similar to CMT when microbiological culturing is unavailable, however, the reliability of IRT among cows with different characteristics and those living under various environmental conditions remains to be determined.

Subclinical mastitis causes alterations in nitric oxide, total oxidant and antioxidant capacity in cow milk.
Onur Atakisi,Hasan Oral,Emine Atakişi,Oğuz Merhan,Ş. Metin Pancarci,Ayla Özcan,Şaban Maraşli,Bülent Polat,Armağan Çolak,Semra Kaya +9 more
TL;DR: In conclusion, subclinical mastitis results in higher NO concentrations, TOC and SCC, and NO and TOC were positively correlated with SCC could be used as an alternative diagnostic tool to screen for sub clinical mastitis.

Expression of genes in the canine pre-implantation uterus and embryo: implications for an active role of the embryo before and during invasion.
Sabine Schäfer-Somi,HB Beceriklisoy,S Budik,Halit Kanca,O. A. Aksoy,Bülent Polat,Yunus Cetin,Serhan Serhat Ay,Selim Aslan +8 more
TL;DR: It is suppose that the canine embryo, like its human counterpart, actively initiates measures to prevent attacks from the maternal immune system to prepare its own adhesion, nidation, growth and further development.

Endometrial echotexture variables in postpartum cows with subclinical endometritis
Bülent Polat,Mehmet Cengiz,Orçun Cannazik,Armağan Çolak,Ertan Oruç,Serdar Altun,Seçkin Salar,Ayhan Baştan +7 more
TL;DR: Monitoring endometrial echotexture alterations, especially homogeneity and contrast, changed depending on the cellular density and inflammation status and may be potential diagnostic markers for subclinical endometritis in cows.
