The validated application from the server is installed in the SE; and the SE executes the validated application to perform a service process, which enables payment functions on the mobile device, including: providing secure communication between the mobile and server; securely provisioning a payment instrument on the mobile, with authentication and verification provided by the server; and binding the payment instrument and the validated application to the mobile to provide strong ID management for enhanced user protection and system security and integrity.

Systems and methods for anti-phishing are disclosed. At a computing device: identifying, from a user input data stream, a first set of one or more characters, and a second set of one or more characters. The first set of characters represents a portion of first private information, and the second set of characters represents a portion of second private information. In accordance with a determination that the first set of characters and second set of characters are identified in accordance with a predefined sequential relationship, taking a protective action, prior to transmitting at least a subset of the characters of the first or second private information to a server remotely located from the computing device, to protect the first or second private information. In some implementations, the first private information includes a username, and the second private information includes a password corresponding to the username.

Anti-phishing system and method

Systems and methods for use with a service provider and a consumer electronic device include a trusted remote attestation agent (TRAA) configured to perform a set of checking procedures or mechanisms to help ensure the security status of a consumer electronic device (e.g., a mobile terminal or phone) that holds financial instruments. The checking procedures may include: self-verifying integrity by the TRAA; checking for presence of a provisioning SIM card (one that was present when the financial instruments were enabled on the device); checking that a communication connection between the consumer electronic device and the service provider is available and active; and checking that communication connectivity to a home mobile network is available and active. The frequency of the checking mechanisms may be adjusted, for example, according to a risk-profile of a user associated with the device or the location (e.g., GPS location) of the device. The checks may be used, for example, to temporarily disable or limit the use of the financial instruments from the device.

Trusted remote attestation agent (traa)

A phishing detection agent is provided. In one embodiment, a user's browser includes a plug-in application or agent that may capture a visual record of a webpage and, with a cached copy of known, authentic websites provided to it via periodic updates, perform a series of image comparison functions to determine if the suspected website is attempting to deceive the user. The phishing detection agent is capable of performing an image recognition algorithm, such as logo recognition algorithm, optical character recognition, an image similarity algorithm, or combination of two or more of the above. If the suspected webpage corresponds to one of the authentic web pages, but the domain name of the suspected web page does not match the domain name of one of the authentic web pages, the suspected web page is flagged as a phishing web site.

An anti-fraud token system is disclosed in which the authentication process is performed primarily on the client side. A client according is provided with an authentication list of websites for which authentication is required, and their respective authentic addresses. The client also asks a user to select a token, which may include graphics, text, and/or sound. When the user accesses an information source from the authentication list, the client notes that the address which the user is accessing is on the list. The client then displays the token as previously selected by the user to the user along with the accessed information, so that the user knows that the information he/she is accessing is authentic.
