Prevention and Treatment of Staphylococcus aureus Pneumonia with a β-Cyclodextrin Derivative
TL;DR: It is reported that a modified β-cyclodextrin compound, IB201, prevents alpha-hemolysin-induced lysis of human alveolar epithelial cells, providing a novel strategy that may be developed to combat S. aureus pneumonia.

TL;DR: In this article, a recombinant mutant form of HIa (HlaH35L) is presented, in which histidine 35 is converted to leucine, which can be used to abrogate the productive assembly of the toxin and protect a subject from staphylococcal pneumonia.

TL;DR: In this paper, l'invention comprend un mutante recombinante du HIa (HIaH35L) which represente par une forme mutant recombinant du HIA (HIaaH35l) dans laquelle l'histidine 35 est convertie en leucine, qui peut etre utilisee pour abroger l'assemblage productif de la toxine and pour proteger un sujet d'une pneumonie staphylococcique.
Anti-Alpha-Hemolysin Monoclonal Antibodies Mediate Protection against Staphylococcus aureus Pneumonia
TL;DR: In this paper, two distinct anti-alpha-hemolysin monoclonal antibodies were generated to prevent human lung cell injury in vitro and protect experimental animals against lethal Staphylococcus aureus pneumonia.
