Grid impacts of wind power: a summary of recent studies in the United States
TL;DR: In this article, the impact of wind power plants on grid ancillary service impacts has been investigated in the United States and the results indicate that relatively large-scale wind generation will have an impact on power system operation and costs, but these impacts and costs are relatively low.

A Comparison and Case Study of Capacity Credit Algorithms for Intermittent Generators
Michael Milligan,Brian Parsons +1 more
- 01 Mar 1997
TL;DR: In this article, the traditional capacity credit calculations with algorithms that are not nearly so labor intensive are presented, and they are used to evaluate whether to undertake a construction project for new generating resources to assist in the comparison of alternative resources.
The evolution of wind power integration studies: Past, present, and future
Erik Ela,Michael Milligan,Brian Parsons,Debra Lew,David Corbus +4 more
- 26 Jul 2009
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss some of the past major studies, mostly focusing on the United States, and the basic methodologies that were used during these studies, and discuss how they have helped the power industry as a whole.
