A Model for Geometry-Dependent Errors in Length Artifacts.
Daniel S. Sawyer,Brian Parry,Steven D. Phillips,Christopher J. Blackburn,Bala Muralikrishnan +4 more
TL;DR: A detailed model of dimensional changes in long length artifacts, such as step gauges and ball bars, due to bending under gravity is presented and reveals the significant error associated with out-of-straightness of a bar or rod even if the gauge points are located in the neutral bending surface.
Guidelines for Expressing the Uncertainty of Measurement Results Containing Uncorrected Bias.
TL;DR: A method to extend the current ISO Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement to include the case of known, but uncorrected, measurement bias is proposed.
